Effective date: 14 June 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a legal agreement between you and Yaowen Xu, an individual based in Sweden ("we", "us"), governing your use of the VibeLex mobile application ("the App"). By using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
VibeLex is a language-learning app that generates short, simplified stories and word explanations in the language you are learning, using artificial intelligence and a third-party dictionary. The App requires an internet connection and a Google account, an Apple account, or an email address — or anonymous (guest) sign-in.
You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country) to use the App. By using it, you confirm that you meet this requirement.
You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your sign-in credentials secure. You may delete your account at any time from within the App.
You agree not to:
The stories in the App are produced using large language models (LLMs). Each story draws on current, publicly available information and is then rewritten and simplified by an LLM for language learning; translations and word explanations are likewise machine-generated (with dictionary data from a community-sourced dictionary). Because this content is machine-generated, it may be inaccurate, incomplete, outdated, biased, offensive, or different from the original source. It is provided solely for language-learning purposes — it is not a reliable source of factual information, and not professional, factual, legal, medical, or financial advice. Always verify important information against an authoritative source. We are not responsible for decisions you make based on App content.
The App includes optional, privacy-respecting usage analytics to help us understand how the App is used and improve it. Analytics is off by default and only runs if you opt in. We ask for your consent in the App, and you can change your choice at any time in Settings → Privacy. We do not use analytics for advertising. How we handle this data is described in our Privacy Policy.
The App relies on third-party services, including Google/Firebase, Apple, and FreeDictionaryAPI.com. Your use of those features is also subject to those providers' terms. Dictionary content is provided under the Wiktionary CC BY-SA 4.0 licence and attributed in the App.
We and our licensors own the App, its design, and its software. We grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the App for your own non-commercial language learning. You may not copy, sell, or redistribute the App.
The App is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement, to the maximum extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or always available.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Yaowen Xu will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, arising from your use of the App. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law, including, for consumers in the EU/EEA and UK, your mandatory statutory rights.
We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms or to protect the service. You may stop using the App and delete your account at any time.
We may update these Terms. We will revise the effective date above and, for material changes, notify you in the App. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept them.
These Terms are governed by the laws of Sweden, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. If you are a consumer, you may also benefit from the mandatory protections of the country where you live.
